Language Other Than English - PRIMARY: A language programme for speaking and writing Indonesian is provided. Each class, from Year 2 to Year 6, receives approximately one hour of instruction per week. The Indonesian programme follows Department of Education and Training guidelines, and a trained LOTE teacher presents the teaching content. L.O.T.E. - MIDDLE SCHOOL: Indonesian is the language taught by a trained LOTE teacher. The language is compulsory for Yr's 7 & 8, and students can study Indonesian in Years 9 & 10 as an option. RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION - Primary student may attend a weekly half-hour period of religious instruction. Classes are conducted by community members authorised by the Department of Education and Training to do so. Programmes are organised along ecumenical rather than denominational lines. Those students not attending religions instruction have private study under teacher supervision. Middle School Students: A religious seminar for Middle School students is usually held once per Term. It is usually of one hour's duration, and may be on a separate or combined Year Group basis. The theme and its presenter/s are decided and organised by the District Council, a group which has representatives from each of the local churches, and the school. Parents are always provided with details before a seminar occurs and student exemption is possible on receipt of parental note requesting it. We assume that if there is no note that the student will attend. EXTRA - CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES Students participate in the following extra-curricular activities througout the year:
